Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the Before and After School Tutoring Program, designing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students
- Participate in professional learning and training sessions for math and/or literacy programs, staying up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and technologies
- Administer pre-assessments, analyze results, and develop targeted instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
- Communicate effectively with parents, building administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to student learning and development
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, assessment results, and program evaluations, to inform instruction and drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social-emotional learning, and fostering a sense of community and belonging among students
Essential Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Highly Qualified status in elementary education
- Exemplary experience in teaching elementary literacy and mathematics
- Proven ability to work with English Language Learner students and cater to diverse learning needs
- Enthusiastic, energetic, positive, and professional demeanor, with a passion for teaching and learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with before and after school tutoring programs or similar educational initiatives
- Familiarity with literacy and math programs, such as those used in our institution
